《Chi è Dio (Short 1948)》Storyline
In the midst of the credits, as the party was winding down, Donkey sang "All By Myself" by himself on stage -- he was greeted by his Dragon girlfriend -- and his six dragon-donkey hybrid babies: "Look at our little mutant babies. The film""s slogan on a major poster suggested violence, with an image of actor Mitchum hugging a distressed Shelley Winters, with his L-O-V-E tattooed hand embracing her back, and the H-A-T-E tattooed hand grasping a knife. In the next brightly-lit scene, transitioned by Bannion reading theKenport Newsnewspaper, he is seen enjoying a peaceful home life - in a scene of domestic tranquility. Two lines in particular were criticized - (1) the impersonated Colonel""s callous joke: "We do the concentrating and the Poles do the camping," and (2) he Nazi Colonel""s comment about poor acting: "As a matter of fact, I saw him [Joseph Tura] on the stage when I was in Warsaw, once before the war.To heighten the effects of the violence (numerous fistfights and gunfights) and provide a striking contrast to the aciturn silence of the former gunslinger, director Stevens magnified he sounds of punches and gunshots on the soundtrack, but he never glorified violence for its own sake.
