《John and Julie (1955)》Storyline
] Sergeant Shaw returns home a war-hero from the Korean conflict. His Air Force plane is met at the airport by cheering, patriotic crowds and a band. The narrator in voice-over describes how he is to be decorated as a Congressional Medal of Honor winner:This nation jealously guards its highest award for valor - the Congressional Medal of Honor.Maybe the next one is the one I""ve always been lookin"" for.Driver: Not worried about your future?Frank: Oh, I""ve got plenty of time for that.Besides, maybe my future starts right now.Outsidethe diner, Frank tells amiable, easy-going proprietor Nick Smith (Cecil Kellaway) that he has itchy feet and a wanderlust to see the world: "They keep itchin"" for me to go places.Inside a room, a black-gloved hand removes a pile of valuable jewels. And then the black cat crosses back over the roof. The short montage continues with another woman""s scream: "My diamonds! They""re gone," and another traversing of the roof by the black cat and the theft of jewels from under a sleeping person""s pillow.Naturally, men are gonna have to be killed, possibly a lot of them. They""ll absorb bullets and shrapnel, and by doing so make it possible for others to get through...say five percent killed by our own barrage - that""s a very generous allowance.Ten percent more again in no man""s land, and twenty percent more again into the wire. That leaves sixty-five percent, and the worst part of the job over.Let""s say another twenty-five percent in actually aking the Ant Hill - we""re still left with a force more than adequate o hold it.
