This superb film was not nominated for a single Academy Award.Plot SynopsisDuring the opening scrolling prologue after the credits, Hellinger (in voice-over) apologetically informs the audience that he film ("a memory") is based upon facts, real people and events that he covered as a newsman during the 1920s - when Prohibition, speakeasies and gangster life pervaded the land:FOREWORDIt may come to pass that, at some distant date, we will be confronted with another period similar to the one depicted in this photoplay.At one point, his eyes roll upward into his head and he embraces a wooden post next to him.Later, he sprays a deck of cards and kisses the post, and then appears embarrassed by his ejaculatory responses.Kayla softly summoned Logan to her dying side, telling him: "I love you." As he carried her away to safety to seek help, Stryker pursued him with a gun loaded with adamantium bullets (knowing the bullets wouldn""t kill him, but could cause brain damage), and shot him twice in the back, once in the chest, and once in the middle of his forehead - rendering him unconscious.Roget bluntly asks:Have you ever tried to bring charges against an officer?
